How to build an agent for renewables
You can assemble an agent that follows the renewable cycle from start to finish: resource, generation, storage, dispatch and delivery, with the record of every stage. These pieces and steps are the starting point, and you assemble them on natuleadan.app, on another platform that connects your equipment, or with open-source pieces, without being tied to a vendor.
The agent works for the renewable operation: the operator decides which plants and batteries enter the follow-up and with which limits. Tools with restricted access, such as telemetry or the forecast, are verified on demand when needed and may be subject to other terms and conditions.
How the agent works
The agent receives the resource (sun, wind, water), the generation and the state of the batteries, and compares them with the configured limits. It decides whether to record, adjust or escalate. When the generation deviates from the forecast, it stops and waits for the operator’s indication before moving the dispatch; if the case is critical, it notifies the on-call team. Every reading is recorded with time, plant and result, and the history makes it possible to reconstruct any shift.
How to use the agent
With the plants connected or manual upload enabled, your routine is to review the generation report, handle escalated cases and adjust limits, plants and recipients when the operation changes. The agent never moves the dispatch on its own and always escalates the deviation. You can pause a plant or remove it from the program without losing its history.
Which tools you can connect
Connecting these tools is not just pasting an API: every connector goes through a normalization process so the data arrives in the same format, and the connection type (API, webhook or file), the security rules and the backup are defined. Your team’s infrastructure also comes in: who manages the credentials, where the connector runs and how it is monitored.
In renewables, the resource and demand forecast, the production supervision and the storage are connected, in addition to the notice channels to the operator and the on-call team, which can be made of people or robots. When the case calls for it, the dispatch and balance, the asset inspection and the traceability are added to close the history of every delivery, along with the periodic summaries that order the shift.
The contents of the tools must meet the system’s parameters to be usable inside the application: data format, permissions and response times. Our application solves that connection; you can also assemble it with third-party programs or use the application online.
