How to build an agent for cardiologists
You can assemble an agent that monitors cardiac vitals, detects anomalies and triggers referral protocols. The agent works for the cardiologist’s practice, never for the patient: the specialist decides which patients enter the monitoring and with which ranges. Tools with restricted access, such as the pharmacy or the clinical record, are verified on demand when needed and may be subject to other terms and conditions.
How the agent works
The agent receives the vitals from the device, or those the doctor and the patient upload asynchronously, and compares them with the ranges configured for each patient. It decides whether to record, notify or escalate. When a critical reading appears, it stops and asks for the doctor’s order before executing any protocol. The rule is simple: the agent evaluates and proposes, the cardiologist decides. Every evaluation is recorded with time, data and result, and the history makes it possible to reconstruct any episode. Continuous monitoring coexists with the in-person consultation and does not replace any decision of the treating team.
How to use the agent
With the devices connected or manual upload enabled, your routine is to review the report, handle escalated cases and adjust ranges, recipients and referral criteria when the clinical picture changes. The agent never modifies treatments on its own and always escalates on a critical anomaly. You can pause a patient’s monitoring or remove them from the program without losing their history.

Connecting these tools is not just pasting an API: every connector goes through a normalization process so the data arrives in the same format, and the connection type (API, webhook or file), the security rules and the backup are defined. Your team’s infrastructure also comes in: who manages the credentials, where the connector runs and how it is monitored.
In cardiology, the sources of the patient’s vitals, the treating team’s clinical record and the practice’s schedule are connected, in addition to the notice channels.
